We’re a bit bleary eyed at Viva Towers this morning. OK, the hot weather might not have helped us sleep but we also had a late night because the team were at an event after being shortlisted for a charity innovation award - which saw Tony pitching to Dragon’s Den star Theo Paphetis.
Viva was one of four companies to face Theo and a set of judges after raising £3,500 for the New Children’s Hospital Appeal by staging our own version of Britain’s Got Talent.
Delivering pitches is something we’re used to at Viva, but having to do a three minute pitch in front of a Dragon like Theo was fantastic - and luckily for us we got a better reception than some of the hopefuls we see knocked back on Dragon’s Den.
We might not have won the award but we were thrilled to achieve such recognition for our campaign. It was a great experience to be part of the whole process - putting together Rossendale’s Got Talent was a lot of fun and it was great to be able to showcase so much talent.
Most importantly though we raised vital funds for the appeal - and hey, getting to meet Theo isn’t something we get to do everyday!
