Hey, long time no see, but heck we’ve been mighty busy down here at little old Viva Towers.
Very busy and there’s been lots of new stuff going on too. There’s a new face, a new focus and a new winter menu on at the Deli! So settle back and read loads of gripping yarns about our new stuff.
Top 10 new Stuff at Viva
1 Phemmie: Straight in at number one is a new recruit with a very unusual first name. I have to say the appellation goes very neatly on a girl who really stands out from the crowd. We lured Miss Wilkinson from City Press and we haven’t regretted it for a moment. She has done some wonderful work already and is a mean chocolate brownie maker. What’s not to like? Why not read her biog.
2 Viva Sport — the big kick-off: A new entry on the new stuff chart is our sporting cousin Viva Sport. Headed by Mr Andrew ‘Read All About It’ Neild, Viva Sport is a winning combination. Aimed at sporting clients we’ve already had some interesting assignments and it’s all there on Viva Sport’s lovely new website. Click here
3 Foggy and Whit news: We’ve just returned from a UK tour with two legends of the superbike world. A Viva Sport production the Foggy and Whit ‘Givin It Gas’ tour was a real hit with punters up and down the country. Stand by for a return trip in 2011. Click here
4 The cutbacks: The country has been in a right old Eric Pickles since the coalition came to town. Budgets are being axed left, right and centre so Viva is cutting back too. We’ve shaved 25% off the pun quotient in our written work and in meetings we are being 15% less funny. It’s for the good of the nation.
5 The Dead Simple Viva E-shot package: We aren’t standing still. Viva has developed a snappy, great value, drop dead simple new e-shot package that we are calling the Viva E-shot Package for short. It does exactly what it says on the tin and will keep you in front of your clients and potential clients. The Viva scribes pen the clever word stuff, and Nick and Shaz handle the pretty design. 6 News @vivatweets: The mission. We learned a lesson from a good friend of Viva, the wonderful Chi Chi Ekweozor @realfreshTV. Chi Chi is a star of Twitter. Her advice ‘If you want to get productive at Twitter but haven’t got the time just make it easy on yourself and do 5-a-day.’
7 New help for Jane: Jane from CBP has asked us to give you news about the very wonderful free Group mentoring that’s on offer to businesses in the North West. It is a facilitated self-help group where a small number of individuals (6) facing similar issues meet in a group setting in order to mentor each other by exchanging ideas, experiences and learning with the support of an experienced mentor/facilitator or development professional. It’s only for lucky firms situated in the Lancashire, Cheshire or Greater Manchester area. To find out more call Jane on 01254 505050 or email jane@cbpartners.org
8 Favourite new website in Viva office: You have to love your type to love this site but Typenow www.typenow.net/themed.htm allows you to reproduce the type faces made famous by the movies.
9 New PR tip: Fancy a bit of DIY PR? Then first ask this basic question. Do you know who are you writing for? Who is your audience? These questions will help you work out where you should be sending the press release. What does your audience read? That’s your starting point for your ultimate distribution list.
10 Client wins: We’ve won the contract for PR with Blackburn College, which has been a wonderful education. Since August we’ve got them on GMTV, Granada, The Today programme and even other bods in the PR world have taken notice of our campaigns. Click here to read the comments.
