  Hyndburn Life is a major part of a £650,000 Community Web Portal development, designed to give residents and visitors to Hyndburn a unique and distinctive online presence. Viva was called in at the 11th hour after the Portal Development Officer left to take up a different career.
  
  Strategy:
  
  Our role has meant working hand in hand with a variety of other parties — partners, system developers, the marketing team, and the borough council itself, as well as a variety of community groups and organisations. This involved attending board and strategy meetings, and providing regular feedback and reports. Our job was to ensure content for the site was fresh and regularly updated. This required us to source content externally and to manage other mini content providers. We also had to check the site daily to moderate the discussion forums, update news and sport information, and develop new ideas for inclusion, plus work with voluntary and community groups to help them take advantage of Hyndburn Life.
  
  Results:
  
  Initially we were able to help the project out of a potential crisis by quickly getting up to speed and delivering a few key objectives. Over time, we have provided a reliable and varied service. We have worked with a number of community groups to help them take advantage of the portal. Visitors statistics have shown a month on month rise throughout Viva’s involvement in the project, when we became a valuable member of the portal team.
