Project
Maysand is a specialist building, conservation and preservation company with a steadily growing reputation. Four years ago, following a restructuring within the business, they took a fresh look at their marketing activity. Initially, their aim was to communicate with clients and associates and reassure them about their changes. Beyond that, the company wanted a more focused and proactive approach to marketing their services.
Strategy
When we first got involved, Maysand’s case folder was highly impressive. It included work on English Heritage projects, high profile city centre buildings and ancient monuments. However, unless you actually visited their offices and spoke to the team, there was no way of knowing any of this. It’s one thing doing a great job but it pays to shout about it, particularly in such a niche field. So the strategy was kept simple: we decided to build up a series of powerful case studies that told the Maysand story and highlighted their expertise and project management abilities. Once the case studies and photos were complete, we then developed a number of ‘vehicles’ for them — a regular newsletter, a new website and an ongoing PR campaign aimed at trade and regional press.
Results
In the two years we have been working together we have: rebranded the company’s corporate image, producing a new logo and stationery ; redesigned the Maysand website; introduced a quarterly newsletter; managed the company’s advertising budget; created a bespoke database tailored to Maysand’s market; and earned press coverage of various projects.
They say
Maysand went through significant change in early 2004 and Viva was brought on board to create a greater customer awareness of the company. Viva took time to get to know us and understand our organisation's needs and ever since, have offered a professional and value-for-money consultancy which has helped us to develop our market.
