Here at Viva we know that it’s a tough world out there so we’re looking to help a bunch of bright, creative, ideas-filled people to take their first steps on the career ladder. We have a four-week PR Internship programme to give PR wannabes some great experience and a feel for what life is like in a top North West agency.
It’s universally acknowledged that all interns have to make the brews, answer the phone and do a spot of filing, but thanks to the benefits of being part of a small (but perfectly formed) team we can give our interns some real-life, hands-on experience in PR work too. In fact, we make sure you contribute far more than the odd cuppa.
In exchange for a bit of graft you’ll get to include that lucrative phrase ‘experience in Public Relations’ and a reference on your CV. You will also gain a whole host of writing and communication skills and hopefully enjoy yourself along the way. We’ll give you a real understanding of the tools and the business process involved in the PR World. You’ll have a chance to shine and who knows what your four-week stint at Viva will lead to. Both of the ‘Viva Divas’ started their PR lives as interns, so they will make sure get the most out of your time here.
Students or anyone simply wanting a career change may apply. What we’re looking for:
• a 2.1 degree or above and no, it doesn’t have to be in Public Relations, we’ve got theologians and historians
• excellent verbal and written communication skills
• a creative flair
• a genuine interest in the world around you
• knowledge of the media, and not just what was in today’s paper,
• an understanding of how to get the best out of social media
• motivation — we are always looking for people who are both talented and keen so if you already write your own blog that’s a good starter for 10.
We will be taking on interns throughout 2012, you will need to be available to work for four weeks, Monday to Friday at our Rawtenstall head office. (Please note vacancies in April, May, July and August have been filled.)
Please note this is an unpaid role.
To apply please in the first instance please send:
