About NextGen Viva

NextGen Viva is a two-week paid work placement primarily aimed at those studying a university course in PR or similar, running during the summer at our office in Lancashire. Placements are limited and will be awarded on suitability.

NextGen Viva started in 2024 because we wanted to give potential PR professionals the opportunity to work on live client projects – not just make cups of tea. While recruiting, we found that graduates didn’t have any real-world examples of agency experience – and that’s something we want to change.

During the structured programme, you’ll be working alongside our award-winning team at our Lancashire office, producing real-world work, and contributing to campaigns that make a difference. You’ll get the opportunity to write press releases, create social content and graphics, and potentially play a role in producing our podcast.

NextGen Viva gives you something tangible to add to your CV to improve your chances of getting your first foot on the PR ladder.

What we look for.

We’re not just looking for another pair of hands – we’re looking for people who share a passion for comms – and who are eager to learn from a dynamic team.

We want people with:

  • A genuine interest in PR and communications – start your journey by learning from the best.
  • Strong writing, research, and social media skills – you can already tell a good story and are looking to put that into practice.
  • Enthusiastic and curious – you want to get stuck into live projects and ask the questions that matter.
  • Eager to learn and proactive – you don’t wait to be told what to do, and you’re not afraid to speak up with ideas.

What you’ll get.

This is your opportunity to experience life working with an award-winning PR agency.

  • A structured two-week programme working from our office in Lancashire with broad exposure to agency work – from strategy to execution.
  • Hands-on experience working on live briefs and client projects. You’ll learn to spin several plates and produce high-quality work to set deadlines.
  • Six months of mentoring and career advice after your placement ends – we want to stay connected and offer ongoing advice.
  • Work samples to show future employers what you can do – and pride in knowing that you have contributed to various live projects.
