Education providers face a unique communications challenge: how do you showcase educational excellence and student success to audiences who need to make crucial decisions quickly?

With over 20 years working with colleges, universities and training providers across the UK, we know how to translate academic achievements into compelling stories that resonate with students, parents, employers and stakeholders.

Why Education Communications Matter.

Your educational impact is significant, but if prospective students, parents and partners can’t understand what makes you different, you’re missing opportunities. Strategic communications ensure your achievements are:

  • Visible to prospective students researching their options
  • Understood by parents making investment decisions about their children’s futures
  • Recognised by employers seeking skilled graduates and training partners
  • Valued by stakeholders who influence funding and policy decisions

Communications Support Across the Education Calendar

Education communications rarely stand still. Colleges, universities, schools and training providers move through a year shaped by recruitment cycles, inspection pressure, policy change and moments where reputation can shift quickly. We help education organisations plan for the moments that matter most, including:

  • Student recruitment and enrolment campaigns
  • GCSE, A-level, T-level, Level 3 and V Level results day communications
  • Open day and open event promotion
  • Ofsted, inspection and reputation communications
  • League table and rankings visibility
  • Apprenticeship and skills agenda campaigns
  • T-level, V Level and programme launch communications
  • Widening participation and access stories
  • Stakeholder and political engagement with the DfE, combined authorities, mayors, funders and employers
  • Crisis communications for issues such as safeguarding, strikes, funding cuts and organisational change
  • Principal and Vice-Chancellor thought leadership

From positive-news moments such as results day to more sensitive periods of scrutiny or change, we help you communicate clearly, protect trust and show the value your institution brings to students, employers and local communities.

  • Results and achievement communications: Celebrating student success whilst demonstrating institutional value

Our Approach: Making Educational Excellence Accessible.

We work closely with your academic and administrative teams to understand both your educational impact and your recruitment objectives. Our approach translates complex educational achievements into accessible stories that demonstrate clear value to different audiences.

From our work with clients like the Lancashire and Cumbria Institute of Technology, we’ve learned that education communications succeed when they focus on student outcomes rather than course specifications. We helped them achieve 115% of their learner target by creating compelling narratives about real people, real skills, and real career progression.

Our experience with Nelson & Colne College Group shows how comprehensive communications support works across every scenario — from celebrating A-Level results to supporting strategic leadership through major organisational changes.

Lancashire & Cumbria Institute of Technology: How a Regional News Story Reached the House of Commons.

The Lancashire and Cumbria Institute of Technology (L&C IoT) needed to prove its employer-led training model worked, and not just to business throughout the region. Rather, to the key policymakers at both a regional and national level.

We created a Barometer Report distilling employer insights into a clear narrative, which was circulated to all 20 MPs across Lancashire and Cumbria with a simple invitation: come and see this in action.

The results:

  • 7 MP visits secured to IoT partner colleges, showcasing employer-led technical training in action.
  • 6 instances of national media coverage (Lancashire Business View, Business Cloud, FE News, Blackpool Gazette)
  • National Institutes of Technology network coverage and engagement from other IoTs nationwide
  • Ribble Valley MP Maya Ellis cited our key messaging in a House of Commons debate on technical education

When your message is elevated to a national level by an MP, it’s no longer brand awareness. You’re shaping policy conversation and influencing future funding.

Why Education Comms Matter Now.

The education landscape is changing rapidly. Students and parents increasingly use AI and digital platforms to research options, making it essential that your success stories are findable, understandable, and compelling. Whether you’re competing for students in a crowded market or demonstrating value to funding bodies, clear communications make the difference.

Our priorities include:

  • Translating educational achievements into stories that connect with different audiences
  • Building trust through authentic student success narratives and transparent outcomes
  • Positioning your institution as the natural choice for students and partners
  • Demonstrating clear value from educational investment and community impact

Audenshaw School: Opening Doors Virtually.

When COVID-19 made traditional open days impossible, Audenshaw School needed to find entirely new ways to connect with prospective parents. We created a virtual open day experience combining drone photography with a comprehensive virtual tour as well as a targeted social media promotion.

The results:

  • Nearly 40,000+ impressions on X (Twitter) posts
  • Almost 1,000 views of the virtual tour video on the school website
  • 10%+ increase in Instagram accounts reached during the campaign week (30 Sep – 7 Oct)
  • Regional media coverage amplifying the story

The virtual tour gave parents an accessible, shareable experience that reached families who might never have attended a traditional open day. We turned a restriction into an opportunity.

“The team were always available, full of ideas and worked in a flexible and professional manner to produce something we were proud to share.”

– Kelly Breakell, Vice Principal (Personal Development and Support), Audenshaw School
