Mental Health at Viva: Making employee wellbeing our focus

Looking after our mental health and wellbeing has never been more important. Now that we’re in the third lockdown, we’re all struggling with being isolated from our colleagues, friends, and family.

Here at Viva, we’re doing everything we can to reduce isolation and lift spirits – from our virtual office, enjoying a ‘Quarantini’ in Tony’s virtual pub on a Friday and quizzes to yoga and lunchtime TED talks.

Whilst we’re doing our best to pick each other up, there is always more we can learn about promoting positive mental health. One of our key objectives this year is to invest in mental health training so that we can look after ourselves and our colleagues even better.

This year, we’re doing our recon and looking at best practice when it comes to what policies, procedures and perks we can implement here at Viva HQ and our new ‘regional offices’. We’ve asked the team what changes they’d like to see implemented and we’ll be working through the ideas to see which we can put in place or build on.

Our passion for supporting good mental wellbeing at Viva stems from our relationship with our client, Lancashire Mind – a great charity that is truly making a difference to the way businesses and individuals see mental health.

Viva’s MD, boss man Tony Garner, has been a speaker at Lancashire Mind’s Time To Talk About Workplace Wellbeing conference, and through our involvement with their campaigns and events, mental health has become an important part of Viva’s business development plan. After all, happy colleagues deliver great results.

Due to the pandemic, the Lancashire Mind Time To Talk About Workplace Wellbeing conference will be held virtually this year, and it’s a great event to attend if you’re a business like us that wants to prioritise employee mental health and wellbeing. They have a brilliant line up of guest speakers this year and the event gives a real insight into how you can start honest conversations with practice advice and tips for maintaining good mental wellbeing in the workplace.
