The Hive, Blackburn BID and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council collaborated to deliver a fortnightly online expert Q&A to provide advice and support for businesses in Blackburn and Darwen relating to the impact of the Coronavirus.
Instead of a webinar, we leveraged the experts across the BID area and Hive network to raise the profile of these businesses and utilise their vast knowledge. This not only offered them additional value for their membership, it also gave those asking questions valuable support during unprecedented times.
Viva sourced the best platform and plug in options for the sessions, liaised with a web developer and the Blackburn BID website host to implement the changes and quickly learnt how to best use the software.
Viva promoted the sessions, updated the information on the website to include profiles on each of the experts, created and managed the users’ log in details, troubleshooted before and during the sessions, collated the content from the sessions and created reports on the impact of each Q&A.

They said:
“The online ‘Ask the Experts’ Q&A sessions have been really successful so far. Blackburn BID, the Hive Business Network for Blackburn with Darwen, and Blackburn with Darwen Council have been working together on these events with the aim of making it as easy as possible for businesses in Blackburn and Darwen to access advice and support during this challenging and unprecedented time.
Viva PR have been instrumental in the success of the ‘Ask the Experts’ online Q&A events. In the first instance by finding the best platform for what the partnership wanted to, and then supporting each session with information for the website, promoting the events online, and crucially helping our experts with the process.
I think the sessions have had a huge engagement from businesses because the questions and answers are posted online, it’s easy to do, and businesses can dip in and out of the sessions plus access all the information at their convenience after the event.”
– Catherine Price, Blackburn Town Centre BID Manager
“As Chair of the Hive can I just add my appreciation of your support. The number of views shows the value you are adding to our members.”
