Viva was tasked by South Ribble Borough Council with the promotion of Penwortham Live, a weekend of live music and entertainment, to maximise attendance and engagement across social media platforms.

Viva created engaging and captivating content that resonated with the target audience of Penwortham Live. This strategic approach involved promoting venue spotlights, event dates and venues, as well as driving wristband sales.

To create anticipation and excitement in the lead-up to the event, Viva produced a series of social media videos that generated an impressive 16,763 views on Facebook.

Each video showcased the vibrant locations of the venues, giving the audience a glimpse of what they could expect at Penwortham Live.

We featured over 60% of the venues, including interviews with staff members, showcasing the personal and authentic feel of the event.

Viva’s social media campaign created a huge impact across the two main social media channels, Facebook and Twitter.

This resulted in a huge 257.6% increase in reach compared to last year’s event – Viva also increased the page impressions by 37.4% and generated a 45.9% increase in Facebook followers.

On Facebook, Viva’s social media campaign achieved:

  • 136,985 reach
  • 175,594 impressions
  • 130 new likes
  • 232 new followers

Despite a decline in monthly users on X, there was still a dedicated audience that engaged with Penwortham Live’s content.

Viva generated:

  • 4,091 post impressions

Viva also promoted the event programme on social media, resulting in over 2,191 link clicks to the page – this amplified the visibility of the acts and venues over the two-day music weekend.

A significant highlight of the event’s promotion was the use of Facebook to livestream the crowds and artists throughout the night.

This approach allowed Viva to capture the energy and excitement of Penwortham Live in real-time, generating over 9,919 views. The live stream provided an experience for those who couldn’t attend in person and helped with amplifying the social media reach and engagement.

Viva’s strategic use of short-form video content, social media and live streaming effectively boosted the profile of Penwortham Live driving significant engagement and attendance over the weekend.

Viva not only created an impact in the lead-up to the event but also sustained high levels of excitement and participation throughout the entire weekend.

They said:

“Collaborating with Viva for Penwortham Live has been great. The team was a pleasure to work with in the run up to the event and on the night. Their impressive social media campaign was key in driving both attendance and engagement.

“Viva’s content resonated well with our audience and the numbers speak volumes, we’re extremely pleased with the results and can’t wait to work with them again on Longton Live.”
